Here are some simple directions to help you find the Cliff House hideaway (because it is hidden away!):

If you are coming FROM THE KEAHOLE-KONA AIRPORT , take the Hwy 19 north (left from airport) until the end of the road. (~30 miles).

Turn right and drive up the mountain until you reach the town of Waimea. Turn left at the main intersection (first traffic light in Waimea -- going straight here will take you to a health food store , and drive through ranch and sugarcane land until you see the first Honoka’a exit just past the welcome sign (past mile marker 44).

Turn left and go to the bottom of the hill, where you turn left again at the 4-way stop onto Hwy 240. (The TKS food store will be on the left corner.) Drive for 8 miles, turning right at the sign marker ‘Kukuihaele,’ continuing about a mile to the Waipio Art Gallery

Count three houses on the right.

Turn right (there is a Hamakua Hideaway sign there), drive down long black-top driveway, passing the big house on the right. Go down to the landing and make a sharp left to Cliff House. Pull into the yellow carport. No one will be there to greet you, (except perhaps our friendly dog, Mana) , so make yourselves at home and may your stay be enjoyable.

If you are coming FROM HILO AIRPORT , you will turn right out of the airport, left at the first signal, and follow signs for Honoka’a & Hwy 19. Go 39 miles north to Honoka’a ( turn at mile marker 42). Drive through town and follow the directions above to Kukuihaele.

Please call 808-775-7466 if you are arriving after dark so the cottage may be lit for you.
